With September and back to school just around the corner, you’re likely concerned about your child’s immune system, especially if they’re a picky eater.

A multivitamin is a great way to make sure your child is getting all the nutrients they need to stay healthy, but getting a quality vitamin that kids will take can be a challenge for even the most dedicated among us. So many kids’ formulas are loaded with sugar or food colouring or worse!

The Verdure Kid’s Complete formula contains essential vitamins, minerals and a probiotic blend. This helps ensure your little one’s daily needs are being met promoting healthy growth and development and aiding in the prevention of disease. The powder can be mixed with just about anything cool enough for a kid to eat, like applesauce, yogurt, a smoothie or even just in their water bottle to sip on throughout the day.

Sometimes, to make it more fun, I like to make a batch of these gummies and add the Kid’s Complete formula to make a potent portable finger food.

Equipment

  • Silicon molds

Ingredients

  • 5 tsp gelatin powder
  • 1/2 cup pure unsweetened fruit juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice optional, for tartness
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup 1-2 tbsp to taste
  • 1 cup frozen fruit (mango, peaches or strawberries)
  • 7 tsp Verdure Kid's Complete multivitamin powder

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan over medium low heat, mix 1/2 cup of the juice with the gelatin powder and whisk to combine, making sure there are no lumps.
  • Heat slowly until gelatin is fully dissolved. Do not let it boil. It should coat the back of a spoon.
  • While heating, in a blender or magic bullet, blend fruit until smooth
  • In a heat proof bowl mix: 1/2 cup fruit juice, lemon juice and maple syrup and 7 tsp Verdure Kid's Complete and warm gently. Whisk until fully dissolved.
  • Add gelatin mixture and remaining 1/2 cup of blended fruit to the bowl and whisk until incorporated.
  • Pour into molds; small silicone candy molds work well. Refridgerate until fully set; about 1 hour, or put in the freezer.
  • When solidified, remove the gummies from the molds and place in a sealed container. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week. Serve 1/7 of the gummies daily. Enjoy!
